It can be overwhelming to try to learn about each personality type at once. To prevent information overload, I created the Types Mini-Guide, a regularly occurring feature where you’ll learn about a different personality type through a mini-guide that points out some key characteristics in a fun way.

Step One: Decode
Are you an introvert or extrovert?
I’m an introvert, which means I recharge my batteries by spending time alone. Too much time around other people can drain me and make me feel exhausted.
Are you intuitive or sensing?
I’m intuitive, which means I like to read between the lines. I am likelier to remember more details about how an event felt emotionally rather than what sequentially occurred.
Are you thinking or feeling?
My preference is to make decisions based on how I feel about them, based on how I’m guided emotionally. I can’t imagine making a decision without using my heart.
Are you judging or perceiving?
I’m perceiving, which means I like flexibility, freedom, and keeping my options open. Too much structure and I feel constricted and restrained.

Step Three: My Thing
My Inner Values. I don’t compromise when it comes to what I believe in. I will stick true to who I am or strive to be who I am no matter what… My inner values and actions must match.
Step Four: My Work
I’m happiest doing work that has a clear purpose and mission that’s is connected to helping people. When I’m living my values, it’s the best ever. But when I’m not, it can feel like my soul is dying. I hate the mundane.
Step Five: Strengths & Weaknesses
What are some of your biggest strengths?
I’m a unique soul who can’t be put into a box. I have an overactive imagination and most days, it’s where I like to hang out. I’m loyal and deeply care for the people in my life — and if they ever need it, I will stand up for them without pausing. I’m also really good at understanding other people and empathizing with them. And I’m especially talented at expressing myself in my favorite mode of expression. I’m supportive of others, really casual and easy to be around, and pretty flexible. And spontaneous!
What are some of your biggest weaknesses?
I really, really, really, really dislike criticism and do my best to avoid it at all costs because I take it very, very personally. I’m also really hard on myself and hold really high standards, so I’m constantly seeing what’s wrong rather than what’s right. And even if people say nice things to me, I don’t really believe them — at least, not for long. I need to hear it at least a few times before I believe it a little. And finally, I can be loyal to the point of being too loyal — where it hurts me and I take on the burden of the whole relationship. But it’s nearly impossible for me to let go.
